Our first experience at Prime was perfect. The Crab cake and Fresh Mozzarella appetizers were both terrific. There was tons of crab in the cake and the Mozzarella and Tomato were fresh and tasty, but could have used a touch more Balsamic. We both had steak. The Ribeye was perfectly cooked and full of flavor as was the Filet Mignon. It is so good to see a high quality restaurant take over the old Morgan House Downtown Ft Myers. We'll be back.

Last week, I tried Prime again and this time the food and the service were much better. Still a step shy of Twisted Vine, but very good food and great atmosphere.

The bar atmosphere is awesome. Lauren is a fantastic representative who is friendly, professional, and pleasant. Keep up the good work.

Literally the worst customer service I have had in Fort Myers and that says something. Waiter was very inattentive at only checked on us once the bus boy asked him to. Only seemed to care about larger parties. Food was fine but wasn't memorable. Over-priced considering the level of customer service. Wouldn't be upset if we never came back... Disappointing... Only attentive when it came to the check.

First time in. It was not busy this evening. Atmosphere was pleasant but very cold which made it somewhat unpleasant. Two ordered steaks and both cooked perfectly and quality was good. Family portion veggies, both were disappointing. Weren't hot, broccolini not cooked right and baked potato not hot. Server brought out frozen butter? When I say frozen I mean rock hard...and she knew it! She said " let me know if you want me to melt it for you". Son had crab cake appetizer, I had wedge salad, both good. I get the feeling that ownership might be new to restaurant business and service staff inexperienced as well. The price point does not match overall quality and service. We think nothing of spending good money on good meals and are fine dining experienced. We spent $156 with tip for three and son ate appetizer. We had 3 glasses of wine at $24 total. In this price range services and all items in meal should be exceptional and it was not. It is not a matter of if they use quality products cause they did, it was execution.

I took friends to dinner here last night. Prime rib was what we were looking for. My friend had suggested Outback because he likes their prime rib. I insisted on trying something else. Needless to say should have gone to Outback. The service here was slow. Very slow. My friend had the prime rib and it was cold. At 40.00 plate that was disappointing. Our potatoes were cold. We asked 4 times for salt and pepper only to finally getting up and going inside myself. Very unhappy. After 210.00 bill walked out still needing to eat. Not recommended at all. I will never return. Very disappointing. They didn't have food for items on the menu. Totally screwed up the chicken AND forgot the sides that should have been part of the plate.

My first visit and I had the seared Branzino (fish). Fish was delicate white flakes, highly recommend. Two filets, plus local miniature tomatoes and greek olives, enough to take home. Also ordered roasted beets, very tasty. Comments about service are probaly true, I saw and heard confusion, but I love people watching including servers/waiters, plus I was in no hurry. Definitely will go back.

I recommend Prime to anyone I know that is heading to Ft. Myers! Service was on point. The restaurant was packed when we were there - our server took excellent care to make us feel like her only table & made perfect recommendations for our experience. The food... Fish, steak, truffle mac... Delicious! Do yourself a favor and order the salted chocolate mousse for dessert - better yet, order two as all those at your table will want (more than) a spoonful. Lunch, date night, or friend night... Prime can be the go-to in downtown Ft. Myers.

Tonight we dined here for the first time. We sat and watched people come in after us and get served before us.. We were only 2 people so it wasn't because our party was large. We ordered chicken and fish so it wasn't because our food was complicated. After eating our bread and getting tired of waiting on our food, I ordered some wine and I almost finished my glass when we finally decided to leave. Pretty sure we were completely forgotten because when I put money down to cover the wine and tip and decided we're respectfully not gonna wait any longer, I suddenly was greeted by a slew of staff apologizing and promising to make it better. I wasn't even complaining. We were just gonna quietly leave. Anyways, our food then came out and my wine and our dessert ended up being complimentary because of our wait. The staff was extra extra kind for the rest of the night =) The food: awesome! Get the truffle mac and cheese no matter what you do. The options are few and many pictured items on yelp are no longer on the menu but the food was pretty good. The wine selection was nice. The bread was meh.. Ambiance: sit up stairs or ur really not going to get what you're paying for.

The Mac and cheese was the best I ever had. For the main dish I had the filet, which was no great at all. They should learn how to season. The service was really great and the waitress was really friendly.

Food was great. The "rock" (salt rock cooking steak) was so much fun. I would prefer them serving it with better buns, the buns we got were hard rolls that were almost stale and not a good compliment with the fillet. Overall great food though!

Excellent, timely, professional and fun service from Heather, and the food was just what I was looking for! Had the Poutine for an app, so good! Ordered the filet, it was perfectly cooked and that fresh garlic tasted amazing! 5 stars for a very satisfied customer.

So this is my 3 review for this place. I didn't ever plan on returning after my last experience, but the manager Kelly reached out to me regarding my visit. Thank you again Kelly!!! So we decided to give it another go around (I'm very glad we did) We were able to get a table very quickly (giving it was packed friday night and art walk going on). Brian greeted us promptly, offering cocktail and suggestive appetizers. As usually when dinning out we went go with the servers suggestions on everything. He started us off with a salad (can't remember name but I know it came drizzled with a house balsamic dressing and tomatoes). We ordered a filet mignon and bone in prime rib steak (we got the last one too: ). When it came to topping Brian suggested we give the foie gras (duck liver) a try. Don't get me wrong when he told us what foie gra was we immediately started to turn our face up like nasty nasty. Although Brian sounded so sure of it , so we looked at each other like why not?! What do know it was AMAZING, so glad we did. He also recommend the truffle mac n chesse and broccoli for our sides and again another great recommendation. Overall this entire visit was fantastic, from start to finish. Brian was great, very knowledgeable of the menu and extremely comfortable in his sitting. We definitely enjoyed our visit and will return soon. Brian thank you for yet another wonderful experience at Prime de Leon...

Definite must visit for downtown Ft. Myers. This is probably one of the best restaurants downtown historic district. Most others have a very casual environment and bar menu type of food. This feels more upscale, slightly romantic, and good food. I just moved down from Chicago, and the steak here was very good. I would probably be paying $20 more for the same steak in Chicago, so from a price standpoint, it's worth the money, even though this menu is probably a little more expensive comparatively to the other restaurants in that area. The inside is really nice, and the outdoor patio is a great place to relax.

My Family and I were in Ft. Myers for a weekend getaway. We stumbled upon Prime de Leon in downtown Ft. Myers. We were happy we found the place. We loved the Pork Belly App and the steaks were cooked to perfection. My waitress was friendly and attentive and when back in the area I will definitely come back again.

The food looked good, but I left my spare bank vault at home and I had just eaten across the square. Too bad this place doesn't remember it's off season and the majority of the people keeping them in business, considering the last place in this location couldn't do it, is the locals! They have obviously forgotten or or just don't care because last night there was music on the square and the price for a draft beer and a Soco on plastic cups was $15!!! So if they jacked it up for the music or that's the normal summer price, glad I know now. I wonder what restaurant will be there next year??

I was there for work and have eaten at Prime 2x now and the service is awesome... Not just that but the burger and 8 oz fillet that I had there on the two occasions were great. They have a "special sauce" on the burger that's really good. The portions are larger than most "fancy" type places.

Very disappointed. Not only was our waiter extremely inattentive but the food was bland. We sat outside, per the hostess; not by choice. The waiter took his sweet time to come introduce himself. He mixed up our wine order, twice and only came to our table when the bus boy asked him to refill our wine for us. The shrimp cocktail was fine (only 5 shrimp). Very basic. We both got the petite filet with chimichurri. Was very excited about this. I ordered mine to be medium rare. What I got was a steak that was charred and cooked all the way through on the edges. The chimichurri was sub par as well. Like olive oil mixed with dried spices; not mixed well either. Au Gratin potatoes truffled weren't cooked all the way through and all the flavor was on the top layer. Otherwise pretty bland meal. Not impressed, especially for $150 tab to sit on plastic chairs in a crowded courtyard where I could smell the sewer from the grate next to me. Extremely disappointed. Will not return.

The dining experience at Prime de Leon was one of the best steak dinners I have had in Fort Myers, Florida. I have lived in Fort Myers since 2004 and we are so lucky to have an upscale dinning experiences. The appetizers were exceptional. The steak was one of the best I ever had and what can I say about the delicious dessert, fantastic. I recommend you to give Prime de Leon a try. I know I will be returning.

I was recently on business in the area for a couple of days and in dire need of a good steak. We passed by this new steakhouse and decided to give it a try. We were a party of four and had an awesome time. The food was too good to be true. Everyone tried something different and there was not one complaint from the table. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I never had brussel sprouts with pork belly before now it is my all time favorite. Service was attentive and fast. We forced ourselves to have dessert just to see if the chef could top the main course. He did. The donuts were creative and tasted great. All in all, this is a classy place that will be around for a long time Make sure you get in on the ground floor. I don't know where Jim T. ate but one look at him and you can see why he has no friends.

The location is great. The courtyard and surrounding area are perfect for an after dinner stroll. I had the Mozzarella Caprese to start. The heirloom tomatoes were fresh and juicy. The mozzarella, while tender, was a bit scarce. Needed more for better balance. The asparagus which were larger stock (which I prefer) were grilled and had a nice smoky flavor. While I prefer them cooked less firm, they were tasty. The scallops were plump and only average. They might have been frozen (not sure about this) and lacked a nice brown crust that some seafood places prepare. But for my money, it comes down to the beef and the rib eye knocked it out of the park. Had the perfect amount of marbling and was as flavorful as any steak I have ever had. The charred outer layer brought a contrasting texture to the medium temperature center. This is what you get at a high end steak house.

In review of the prior reviews, I am not sure if they were eating in the same restaurant or it was written by the owners. I have a lot to say. Let me start by saying that we were a party of 6. I have been in fine dining for 20 years in the best restaurants to include 5 start true service. I was with my friend who was a Johnson and Wales graduate (Of the best 2 chef schools in the country). We have both ran fine dining restaurants and have sat and eaten in the best restaurants in the country. This was not one of them. The first thing that made my stomach turn is the sewer smell outside the front door. I had noticed it on the fourth of July and it clearly emanated into the restaurant. Gross! If I was alone I would have stood and left. The bathrooms smelled of human waste and needed complete renovations. In a fine dining restaurant of what they portrayed, the bathroom should have been new with rolled hand towels and an attendant. The menu was 100% a la cart. When I say a la cart I mean even the sauces were extra. If the food, service and elegance warranted it, I would have been fine but not here. The best steak on the menu was a 10oz filet at $34.00. The sauce was $2.00 the potato was $7.00, the vegetable was $8.00 and the salad was $10.00. That is a $57.00 plate without tax or tip. Nobody got the mystery soup of the day since it was not presented and I am glad. The waitress claimed the vegetable was enough to share and that was a joke. The vegetable was asparagus and it was over cooked mush that you could mash like a potato. Another so called vegetable was brussel sprouts and pork belly. Neat thought, neat presentation but tasted truly awful. It had a fatty chunky texture in chopped up brussel sprouts that made me cringe. I took one bite, it sat on the table with no takers and I asked the waitress to remove it. One person in our group got an appetizer that I was told was bacon...it looked like an overcooked steak that was a thick overcooked slab of leather on an empty plate. Not one bite was taken from it. I had a bite of the pork belly app and it was decent but not incredible. The filet looked good and looked like it was cooked correctly on the plate to my right. My friend had the Churrasco Steak that he said was not good and very tough. The chef did not have the blue oysters on the menu and the waitress claimed they had a hard time keeping them fresh so they stopped carrying them. Then why were they on the menu if the chef was so incompetent to get fresh oysters? I've had fresh oysters from California in restaurants in the desert! They ran out of Perrier and served us hose tasting club soda. The wine list was written by Laurel and Hardy. The menu's were on a dirty piece of paper to include the wine list. Where was the nice leather bound menus that should be wiped down every evening. My other friend cordially told the waitress that the Caesar Salad was not a Caesar since it had tomatoes and no anchovies with italian dressing. She nicely went to the chef and said that they loved to hear criticism. She said they changed a dish last night because of a customers suggestion. What kind of chef needs a customer to tell them how to cook. The desert list was bleak. We ordered the doughnuts that were Thai donuts with condensed milk. They were not even done correctly. They were like cake! Yuck. The server meant well but she was not qualified to serve a $100.00 per plate menu (Including Drinks). When I am eating desert and my knife I used for cutting my salad stains my shirt I am disgusted. The table was not even cleared. So much so that the waitress kept our "to go" containers in the kitchen claiming there was not enough room on the table! WELL GET RID OF OUR SALAD PLATES! This is not your mama's house. Steak knives are not part of the table setting! They are placed on the table as needed for people who order a steak. There is a book that tells you etiquette. At the end of the meal even the salt and pepper should be removed. Nothing on the table that is not used for that course should be there. When people leave, the table should only have left over coffee cups and spoons for stirring. In short. They will be out of business in less than 3 months unless they hire a power house GM. It was actual work to eat here. The owners have no business being in the fine dining business without a GM. A chef that can run this kitchen will cost over $100,000.00 per year and he will only prep the plates as they leave...no cooking. Renovate the restaurant. Complain to the city about the sewage stench. Tell the adjacent building owner to renovate his hunk of junk building or complain to the city (There was a window open with rags hanging out!). Hire qualified waitstaff. Get clean menus and hire a master of wine to write the wine list or someone qualified. Get a loan to stock your restaurant correctly.

Yesterday was our first visit to Prime de Leon. Myself, my wife, my 3 year old son and a friend of ours arrived for lunch around 1:30 pm. PRIME was a really nice spot for an afternoon lunch, it was quiet and beautifully decorated. We had a FANTASTIC lunch! We started with the slab bacon, pork belly and wedge salad appetizers. All 3 were delicious but the bacon was a major standout. It was spectacular! Our lunch consisted of a PRIME 14 oz burger, grouper sandwich, children's mac and cheese, grilled cheese panini and a rib eye. Our sides were creamed spinach and truffle mac and cheese. Let me start with the burger. I'm a burger guy, I order them everywhere and this was a BURGER! It was one of the best I've ever had, juicy, seasoned and cooked perfectly, great portion size, quality meat and toppings and a great bun. My wife's grouper sandwich was really nice as well. The grouper was fresh, seasoned perfectly and topped with a delicious tartar sauce and cabbage slaw, which I assume are both home made. Our son's mac and cheese was simple enough for a child to enjoy but the quality that a parent wants to see their child eating. The grilled cheese panini was delicious with multiple cheeses and fresh tomato. The bread was cooked perfectly and it really packed a lot of flavor. All sandwiches arrived with hot, fresh cut fries that were a really nice compliment to the sandwiches. The rib eye was really something to write home about. These people know steak, that's for sure. The rib eye was exceptionally tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. We all really enjoyed the fresh garlic that accompanied the steak. It was really a spot on piece of meat. The sides we chose were great. My wife said the creamed spinach was the best she had ever had and the truffle mac and cheese was like nothing you've ever tasted. It was PACKED with truffle flavor. The sides were a really nice portion and more than enough for us to share. After the meal we enjoyed, there was no room for dessert though we wish there would have been. Maybe we should start with dessert next time. The owner and chef were nice enough to greet us twice and stayed for some conversation at the end of our meal. They were great people. A true passion for what they do and the quality they serve as well as a pleasure to talk to. In the end, our experience at PRIME was a great one. The quality of the food was right on par with their prices and atmosphere. It's hard to find really exceptional restaurants that appeal to a variety of palates, this surely is one of them. Well done PRIME, we will absolutely be back!

This is located where the old Morgan House was downtown. I was quite concerned when we first went that it changed so much (definitely not a burger place anymore), but was excited by the new menu- absolutely LOVE the pork belly. It is very pricey, but the small plates make it more than worth the pop in at least. We attended a benefit dinner here and the food was delicious, perfectly prepared, luxuriant sauces, fabulous drink and wine options! The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is 1) it is WAY over priced, and 2) they ran out of food during our dinner (several entrees). The staff is wonderful, and it is still the beautiful interior of the old Morgan House, but I know I will not be paying over $40 for a steak dinner often. Now the small plates and wine on that fabulous upstairs outdoor patio with the perfect view to unwind and people watch- that I will come back for.

Had a perfect experience. Walked in and felt like I was in the five boroughs again. Beautiful and sleek design matches the menu and presentation. Black seating with the white walls and black industrial ceiling is definitely trying to say something. The server was attentive and helpful and supremely professional and funny. The drink selection did not leave me wanting and introduced me to some craft beer I haven't met yet. The appetizer we enjoyed was the pork belly. It was juicy and melted in your mouth with the caramelized onions. The skin holy moly. I got the 14 oz NY strip for dinner and got it with the blue cheese crust and a bit of garlic butter. Was tempted by the slab of bacon you can get for a side but the 14 oz were more than enough and came out perfectly med rare. Too full on all that and the handmade bread that came out (not keto friendly but god it was worth a bite). One of the best opening experiences I've had in a long time. Thanks for the surprise.

Made a reservation to have a late lunch, 245pm on a Saturday. Drove an hour to get there. When we arrived we were seated only to then be told the kitchen had already closed. So ridiculous. Why would you take reservations for a time when your kitchen is closed? And how can your hostess not be aware of this and seat people anyway?!

We both got the 12oz filet which was cooked to our liking. However with the prices set by the restaurant customers have the right to expect perfection. The asparagus was undercooked with no flavor. The creme brûlée was mediocre ... Too many eggs and did not have the right consistency. The wine selection ok at best. All of the tables around us were full of Complaints which kind of set the mood for the meal. I probably would not return.

Our (2) experience was excellent! Our reservation was acknowledged and we were seated immediately. The host staff was concerned with and doted on our experience throughout our time there. Heather was absolutely incredible with her amazing and welcoming personality, attention to detail, knowledge of each item on the menu, recommendations for all courses, as well as drink recommendations. After the experience, we both recommend: the crab cake starter, the filet mignon and salmon entrees, and the unbelievably delicious cheesecake (with caramel, mascarpone and peanut brittle). On a small downside, the density of dining tables was high, and the dining room felt crowded.

This started out as a complete disaster. We had reservations for six on Sunday evening at 7:30. We arrived and a table for us was set up outside on a lovely evening. The waitress assigned to us was incompetent. She arrived after 10 or so minutes and informed us that they were out of shrimp, prime rib, BREAD, and some other dishes. She started to take our drink order and stopped halfway through to run over and deliver some food to another table. She never returned. We were just about ready to pack up and leave when another waitress showed up and took COMPLETE control. She had been called in by management to salvage what was a horrible situation. Her name was Heather and she was at home watching a movie after having worked all day. She was wonderful! She had a sense of humor, informed us of all the menu choices, and apologized for the missing menu items. Drinks came, food came (absolutely delicious, by the way) and Heather got a very big tip for her trouble of having to come back to work. Management must not have expected a crowd this Sunday night. It can thank Heather for coming to the rescue. I suggest that you try this place, but call ahead to see if Heather is working and ask to be seated at her table.

Fantastic ambience and a great steak. They having seating both indoors and outdoors. Had the coffee rubbed bone-in ribeye medium rare. Was fantastic! Expect to pay $30 for a steak and sides around $10. And great wine selection. Well worth the price. Butternut squash is sweet and addicting. Hats off to our server Guiseppe. He engaged our 8 yr old twins throughout the evening. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great steak while exploring historic downtown. .

I ate here with my wife. I had the 14 oz. sirloin strip with the horseradish cream sauce and my wife had the filet with the Gorgonzola crust. Both were cooked as ordered and both cuts were very good. For an appetizer I had half dozen oysters. I do not recommend them, as they were skimpy and not worth $12. The service was very good. The inside of the place needs updating. The wine selection is good and not overpriced. Good selection of wines by the glass.

A few months ago we happened upon this amazing place after attempting to enjoy the roof top experience at Ford's. They were having a private party so we decided to take a walk and discover! We travel to Florida often and are seeking a new home in the sunny state. We happened upon this restaurant and enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Heather immediately connected with us and directed us to great choices. We enjoyed the Ribeye along with sides and a salad. The food was perfect yet the ambiance and service is what truly set this place apart. Heather laughed with us and had a great ability to sense what the diners were seeking. She connected when appropriate and was unobtrusive when she recognized we were conversing. This week we flew in to Fort Myers and Yelped steak and this same location showed up! It brought back great memories and we were excited about enjoying another dinner here. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and were greeted by Heather! She remembered us and gave us a repeat of the initial spectacular experience. We are certain all of the folks at Prime de Leon are great at what they do. We simply have a special heart for Heather. Enjoy!

I was in town for the weekend and was looking for a good steak. I walked in to Prime and was seated right away. The staff was very friendly and the waiter was great! The steak was amazing! I got a Filet and it melted in my mouth. Best steak I've had in a long time. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

I ate here with my mother and we more than indulged on our visit to Prime de Leon. We started with the pork belly for an appetizer which was cooked to perfection. For an entree we had the Filet Mignon with the cracked pepper sauce and a side of truffle mac and cheese. As a forewarning, skip the sauces; they're not needed. The filet was so well seasoned that all you needed was some of the roasted garlic they put on the side to add a little kick. As for the truffle mac and cheese...definitely split it with someone. That one side could have easily been someone's meal. The truffle wasn't overpowering and the mix of cheeses was oh-so-creamy and delicious! We splurged and got the mini doughnuts to share for dessert. Despite the fact that my mother and I were both stuffed, we were depressed we didn't order one each. Sharing was very hard after our first bite of the doughnuts! Overall, an amazing experience and one of the finer restaurants in the downtown Fort Myers area. As a bonus...they have a pretty good wine selection!

Wow. I finally got to eat here and I can't elaborate about amazing it was. I was with my two college girlfriends and we were HUNGRY. We started with crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and a blt wedge. Everything was phenomenal, and as a white girl I "can't even." We then proceeded to order two filets, and two orders of the banana lobster. The service was amazing, the food was amazing and this is by far the most amazing place I've eaten here in Ft. Lauderdale. PS. Bread and the sour cream/chive butter, Napoleon dessert and drinks were amazing. Thanks Heather for the great service.

We decided to celebrate our Anniversary there last evening. It was so worth the drive from Bonita Springs! I had the gnocchi appetizer and my husband had the blue points. Both were delicious and presented beautifully. I decided to just have French onion soup for my main and sample some of my husbands Bleu cheese encrusted rib-eye, creamed spinach and baked potato. I can honestly say this soup has me saying I will never order French onion soup anywhere else ever! It was that good. The ribeye was cooked perfectly as ordered, and the sides were delicious and generous as well. We took our own wine and it was graciously decanted and served for a small corkage fee. We were then treated to dessert. We chose the cheesecake in a jar? Fabulous! Our server was Spencer. Big shout out to him and the rest of the staff for a wonderful experience. We will definitely make this a regular place!

Went here for a dinner and had a FANTASTIC meal. They start out by bringing some delicious bread with a great presentation. I had the caprese as an appetizer - buffalo mozzarella was amazing but some of the smaller tomatoes were served a bit green and crunchy (I'm sure by design) which I was not a fan of - but that's just personal preference. I had the filet mignon as a main course which was phenomenal - perfectly cooked, amazing flavor and great presentation. We also had macaroni and cheese (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and creamed spinach which I also loved! I picked the cheesecake for dessert which was pretty good as well. The only reason I didn't give Prime 5 stars is that it was very pricey and I felt like I have had better steaks for less money. Overall this was an amazing place for a fancy steak dinner, good ambiance for a romantic dinner, and is in a neat location in downtown Ft Myers!
